Too lazy to be bitter

You'd think I'd be able to get good and worked up to write a really bitter "I hate Valentine's Day" post. You'd think with being sans girlfriend for around 5 years and the big 40 looming, I'd muster up the bile.

Eh.

Maybe it's because I have so many friends that don't give a damned about it either.

You know, you said something last night about you don't have a life, so you have plenty of time to game. I think it's the opposite. You have a life and lots of friends, so you have the luxury of running four games and being in another one.

I've been doing some late-night blog cruising- just seeing what other people post. You'd be amazed at how many are griping about V day. Here's the one where I posted my comments about this lame excuse of a holiday.

I saw this blog (you've added it to your blogroll).

My favorite story is how you and Carlton get tech presents for each other instead of going with the hype, if nothing else because you guys getting Palms for each other sets up the obvious joke for what single guys get on V Day. [EG]

I say "thbtt" to hallmark holidays. :) Of course, I say that I eschew the expectations that it creates, then feel vaguely disgruntled that everyone I'm casually dating treated it so casually that they didn't mention it at all. Oh, wait, no, the words "Happy Valentine's Day" were said in e-mail. :)

Then again, it would be much more interesting if it were more like the original holiday it comes from. Anyone else see the San Francisco Chronicle's article on that? It's pretty funny - in fact, I think I'll go post it on my blog.
